Memorial FindAGrave Link

Born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, Robin had lifelong kidney issues.

The Robin H. Mendelson Memorial Award, American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, was established in 1971 to commemorate a courageous young man who struggled for five years with kidney dialysis and two transplants during the infancy of transplant technology. The award honors outstanding service and contributions to ASCLS, the ASCLS Education and Research Fund, and to the Clinical Laboratory Science profession. Resources for the Mendelson Memorial Award are provided by Westminster Publishers, editor@westminsterpublishers.com, publisher of Clinical Laboratory Science, the official journal of ASCLS.

Memory: Robin was able to make it across the stage (with his crutches) during graduation at TC Williams. It was great! His father owned the old Mendelson Hardware store in Alexandria.
