Bob Reppa of Alexandria, VA, died December 3, 2002, at Alexandria INOVA Hospital after a four-month illness with lymphoma.

He was born in Tulsa, OK and lived with his military family on many Army posts in the United States and in Germany. He came to Alexandria in 1955 and graduated from T.C. Williams High School.

A graduate of the University of Maryland in College Park, he was an honor graduate in history and a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. While at the University of Maryland, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1969, trained at Parris Island and served for six years, most of which were at Andrews Air Force Base.

Bob was employed as a Salesman with the Equitable Life Assurance Company. Later he spent two years in El Guryat, Saudi Arabia with the Gray International Company. For the past 15 years, he was a Supervisor with the Grey Eagle Corporation in Upper Marlboro, MD. He was a licensed Stationary Engineer in the State of Maryland.

Fluent in Spanish, Bob frequently visited Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and as an avid traveler, he twice traveled around the world.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. Robert B. Reppa, Sr. and Jane Maynard Reppa, of Alexandria; a sister, Katherine Reppa of Aspen, CO; and two nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

October 11, 1950 – August 17, 1969 @ 18 Memorial FindAGrave Link The Kathy Barwick Music Scholarship was established in 1970   by William and Joyce Barwick of Alexandria, in memory of their daughter, Kathy Barwick, who died of leukemia in 1969. She had played the violin in the T.C. Orchestra and attended the Virginia Music Camp. The scholarships have been awarded annually to an orchestra member from each of the city's secondary schools, c hosen for their talent and ability as well as involvement in their school music program. The students attend the Virginia Music Camp at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia.
